Overall objective for Project 2028 

HCC: Pupils awaiting Special School are attending their mainstream school full time. DSPL will ensure consistent provision to achieve the best outcomes at local level of children, young people and schools.  

DSPL 8 Fewer young people awaiting specialist provision will be on reduced timetables, educated off school site or excluded whilst awaiting placements.  

Objective for current year 2025-2026 

To establish which elements of support are successful in supporting learners and schools to maximise young people’s access to learning. To ensure learners make progress on their EHCP goals 

DSPL to provide: 

1. Specific group training to schools working with specific cohorts of learners.  

2. Support to headteachers and SENCOs to build confidence in working.  

3. Individual support and group support to parents / carers 

4. Provide enrichment activities to learners
